"The Weight of A Hand" was performed in a storefront as an act of solidarity for 10 days during Montreals' Festival International de Nouvelle Danse (FIND) 1992. Ten woman subjugated themselves in order to confront violence against women.  Empowered as a unified body - connected through touch, sound, and movement their pulsating voices could be heard by placing one's ear on the window pane that acted both as a resonating material and a physical barrier between the performers and the public gaze.
