"What belongs to us/Ce qui nous appartient"
new contemporary dance performance / nouveau spectacle de danse contemporaine
A collaboration with conceptual artist Andrew Forster En masse is a study in the dynamics of the CROWD (in public or social space), transformed into a cross-disciplinary work for a large group (75 dancers and non-dancers) in performance. In the crowd, personal privacy and individuality are exchanged for a freedom ensured by anonymity and non-responsibility. This liberated force - devoid of morality, is intoxicating, beautiful and potentially violent. En masse was created during a two-week residency at Tangente – Montreal QC, in 2003.
